Mobility is key to our freedom, and since the advent of the Americans with Disabilities Act government and private businesses have rallied to help reduce the barriers that impede travel for millions of Americans. In the words of the motto of the National Organization on Disability: "It's ability, not disability, that counts."

USTravAbility.org is a project of Travelers Aid International, the association for member Travelers Aid programs. We want to empower travelers with links to resources that will provide advance information to help ease the journey for millions of Americans with a disability. We also offer travel tips. We invite - and encourage - your feedback. Visit the "Contact Us" page to share your comments, as we continually strive to update the information and resources.

What We Do

Travelers Aid has been helping travelers since 1851, and now has a diverse network of member agencies that provide assistance to individuals and families who are in crisis and disconnected from their resources.

Most notably, Travelers Aid volunteers can be found in thirty-six airport, train and bus stations where they provide a "helping hand along the way" for more than six and one-half million travelers each year, including:

  • Information and directions
  • Local tourism assistance
  • Assist travelers with physical and mental disabilities
  • Problem solving
